Day 1 (Suggestion Only): Cairns to Port Douglas

Day 1 Arrive in Cairns and pick up your vehicle before spending some time exploring some of the local highlights Cairns has to offer such as Cairns Esplanade with its lovely ocean front promenade, saltwater swimming lagoon and beach. When it suits, travel the 65 km from Cairns to Port Douglas along the Captain Cook Hwy, with a detour to the popular rainforest skyrail and Kuranda for the tourist markets and butterfly sanctuary. Continue on the coastal road to sensational Port Douglas where you will spend the night.

Day 2 (Suggestion Only): Around Port Douglas - Great Barrier Reef (Optional - Extra Cost)

A full day around Port Douglas - Spend the day out on the Great Barrier Reef snorkelling over coral gardens and swim through darting schools of impossibly coloured fish. Alternatively dive the best places of the Great Barrier Reef with expert dive masters and superbly equipped vessels. (Day Trips onto the Great Barrier reef are extra cost- Discounts negotiated and included as part of your package).
If you don't plan to visit the reef take a walk through along beach, hike up to Flagstaff Hill, or do some shopping in town. Play a round of golf, ride a jet ski or horse or just play with the kids on the pristine beaches of the region.

Day 3 (Suggestion Only): Port Douglas to Daintree National Park / Cape Tribulation

Day 3 Depart Port Douglas and travel the 90 km venturing into the spectacular tropical delights of the beautiful Daintree. After crossing the river by vehicle ferry visit the Daintree Discovery Centre and enjoy fabulous views from the 23 metre high canopy tower. Continue on the coastal road to Cape Tribulation and into the spectacular tropical delights of the region with its great rainforest walks and remote and untouched beaches. If you have time in afternoon head back south for a sunset river cruise or just spending the night at one of the local Caravan Parks.

Day 4 (Suggestion Only): Daintree to Atherton

Day 4 has you heading south to the Atherton Tablelands. As you head south take time to visit the remaining attractions within the Daintree National Park including famous Mossman Gorge. Travel South stopping at Mareeba for a locally grown espresso coffee at one of the many cafes. Continue your journey towards the town of Atherton with a detour to Lake Tinaroo and Tinaroo Falls. Lake Tinaroo is one of the great attractions of the Atherton Tablelands. Late afternoon drive and stay at Atherton or choose to do a sunset cruise and stay the night at Lake Tinaroo.

Day 5 (Suggestion Only): Atherton to Mission Beach

Day 5 is a facinating day exploring the stunning attractions of the Atherton Tablelands on the way to beautiful Mission Beach. Along the way visit the natural attractions including spectacular trees, beautiful waterfalls, crater lakes and some amazing rock formations. Head off down the range towards Innisfail, taking a break at Millaa Millaa Falls on the way. Next stop is famous Mission Beach with over 14 kilometres of magnificent golden sandy beaches, you'll be spoilt for choice as you laze away the rest of the day in paradise. In many places, the rainforest literally fringes the golden beach. Your Travel pack includes specific information & recommendations so you can tailor your day to suit your specific interests.

Day 6 (Suggestion Only): Around Mission Beach

A fully flexible day with the opportunity to explore some of the attractions in beautiful Mission Beach at your own pace. Simply spend the day at the beach or take a day trip out to Dunk Island or the Great Barrier Reef. If you want to keep your feet dry, there are many scenic walking tracks. Alternatively spend part of the day exploring further afield including the beautiful waterfalls and national parks including Lumholtz National Park and Wallaman Falls. The choice is yours.

Day 7 (Suggestion Only): Mission Beach to Cairns

From Mission Beach start travelling back towards Cairns stopping off at attractions of interest before entering the magnificent waterfalls and swimming holes of Josephine Falls. Stop at one of the many pubs at Gordonvale (where the first cane toads were released) for an afternoon snack before returning your vehicle to the depot in Cairns.
